This is a bit of a circular argument.
“I will go”
“No, something will happen.”
Rinse and repeat. Sorry if that sounded snarky, it’s just that circular arguments get annoying for me after a while. Great story nonetheless.
@Raelis: I think that`s the point of the story right now…the girls are in trouble and they need help, the problem is that the helping party have their own problems and can`t decide what to do…Also it shows how these characters think about each other and the girls. And I think there is a reason for Ian to go, story-wise. I wonder how he`ll react to the fact that Elia turned into ash… 0_O
That mum of Dores is annoying the heck out of me, why don`t you just say out loud that you don`t care one bit about your daughter! I would think that most parents would come to their senses and feel at least a bit of love or worry when a child doesn`t come home, but she is as cold as ice!
dores’ mother definitely deserves to suffer elia’s fate instead of her. and it is nice to finally be able to respect ian in some way. his mother is actually the reason he’s such a lame person until now. i still hope that elia’s spirit lives on somehow, in the spooky woods on the mountain, but i do hope the other two girls manage to get out…they should have left immediately instead of spending another night there. the irony – ian is finally coming for elia, doing something nice for dores, and perhaps it’s too late for them all.
I’m not so sure that Yonda’s (Dores mom) motives can be as cut and dry as they would appear. Certainly it seems like she doesn’t care much for the safety of Dores, but clearly there’s a lot more to it than that. I mean, for one thing, she’s really worried about how her family is going to continue on. Life is rarely that simple unfortunately. Plus, I mean, one child is already potentially in danger, it’s scary to send another. I mean, it sounds whiny and witchy and all, but seriously. I hope Celinda (Elia’s mom) and Ian go out and save the day, to me that seems like a pretty reasonable compromise.
On the other hand, if one of your children is missing, do you really want one of your other children to go wandering off, too? Particularly when you have no idea what happened to the first one. If I were a mother I’d be clinging just as tight to my child as Dores is to Ian…especially if they were my favourite!
Can we cuss in the comments? If not, what a jerk move of the mom. =/ I hope she gets her comeuppance or I’m gonna stab her.
True dat, Mindy. She’s not at all worried about Dora, but when her first born decides to go looking for her, then “Oh, honey, it’s so dangerous!”
Wow… Dores’ mom just don’t CARE about her at all. All her attitude is “Pfeh, good riddance! Too bad it’s inconveniencing me right now!” Poor girl.
Thirded, wouldn’t want her for a mother :P
Guess the girls are pretty much screwed then, seeing as how noone is disposable to go look for them ;3

Did you ever hear that South Park song, ‘Kyle’s Mom is a B*tch’? This situation seems to apply, except change “Kyle” to “Dores”.

Gah. Oiy she gets under my skin.
