In this kind of era women traditionally didn’t HAVE undergarments like we do now, that and the only clothes they do have are all covered in ash. Really close friends can cuddle nude and still just be platonically friends, which is what this looks like to me.

I haven’t been able to stop crying for about 30 pages now I think… I NEVER cry just by reading something–that is how emotionally touching this story is to me. I applaud the makers. <3

I’m with Polerin- I’ve been seeing hints of love in this whole series, esp. earlier when they’re wrestling each other…but right now it just looks like they need comfort.
Frankly it’d be a little bit weird if they decided to have sex right after their friend was reduced to ash.

They are most likely NOT having sex, but that doesn’t imply that there isn’t something more intimate than platonic friendship here. It looked pretty clear to me that Vandi is in love with Dores, though it’s unclear if the feeling is returned.

You’ve never talked to any gays or lesbians about this, have you. Perhaps YOU define sex as exclusively the penis-in-vagina variety, but virtually every homosexual person (and a majority of straight people, too) would include woman-on-woman or man-on-man intercourse as sex, too.
